Kathleen B. Shannon, MA, LMHC/LPC

Suppose that you felt better each time when you left therapy than when you came in?  Suppose that you could find a therapist who supported your best hopes, wishes and dreams, and completely believed in you?  That is my goal!  I work with highly motivated people who are seeking help with managing depression, anxiety, addiction, and the effects of trauma.

I am Kathleen Shannon.  I am a licensed mental health counselor, in both Washington State and in North Carolina, and have been in practice for 17 years.

I specialize in treating individuals (15 years of age and up) with anxiety, depression and PTSD.

For your convenience, I can work online to reach as many people as possible in parts of the country who are in need of services, but may not be able to go to an office to get needed treatment, or may have some concerns about accessing treatment.

Having been a client myself, I have been to a number of counselors, which is what led me to becoming a licensed psychotherapist.  Some of the counselors whom I have seen who are amazing are still practicing.  My goal is to be like the amazing ones, and embolden you to see your best hopes become a reality.  I use tools to measure progress at each session, and we can adjust course along the way to do more of what is working, and change those things which I am doing which are not working as well.

I have a specialized area of passion in treating those who have survived or are surviving religious trauma or spiritual trauma.  For those who are not familiar, I am a survivor myself, and if you would like, you may read My Story.
